If you choose to use insurance and we are in-network providers, we will handle the billing process. After each session, we will submit a claim to your insurance company on your behalf. We will also submit any prior authorization requests that your insurance may require before you can receive services. Most insurance companies do not require prior authorization for therapy, but some do.
If we are not in-network providers for your insurance and you have out-of-network coverage, you are responsible to pay in full at the time of service. We will then submit a claim to your insurance so that they may reimburse you directly according to your out-of-network benefits. Out-of-network benefits typically cover a percentage of the customary rate (the rate your insurance would pay a network provider), not the provider’s actual charges. Consequently, there will be out-of-pocket costs.
It’s important to note that coverage and reimbursement rates vary depending on your specific insurance plan. You may have to meet a deductible before your insurance will pay for any portion of your care, even if we are in-network providers for your plan. We encourage you to contact your insurance company regarding coverage for our services. We will work closely with you to ensure transparency and clarity regarding your financial responsibilities.

If you don’t have insurance or prefer to pay out-of-pocket, we offer self-pay options. See the “Services and Rates” page for details regarding our rates.

In many cases, expenses can be covered by your FSA or HSA. These accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses. We recommend checking with your FSA or HSA provider for specific details regarding coverage and reimbursement for services. Please let us know if you need a receipt to submit for FSA/HSA reimbursement.

Insurance companies typically do not cover evaluations aimed at determining the presence or absence of a learning disorder. This is because such evaluations fall outside the insurance companies' "medical necessity criterion." We encourage you to reach out to your insurance provider directly with any questions regarding coverage.
While we are happy to conduct a private evaluation for a learning disability, please note that the cost will need to be paid out of pocket. This can be discussed in detail during your initial intake appointment.
For those who cannot afford a private evaluation and have school-aged children, we recommend requesting an evaluation through your child's school district. Schools often have resources and processes in place to assess and support students with learning disabilities.
